180 Video Contest: Make a video. Share it. Save a life.
In B.C., young people are involved in more crashes compared to the rest of the driving population — largely due to speeding, impaired and distracted driving.
The 180 video contest encourages young people to get involved in preventing crashes in B.C. — to learn about the issues, harness their creativity and reach their peers to make a difference.
From 2010-2012, we received more than 170 videos from 19 to 25 year-olds in B.C., all aimed at changing their friends' attitudes about dangerous driving behaviours.
Then, we brought in film industry experts to judge the films.
To help support these young filmmakers in building their portfolios and careers, prizes included video cameras and editing software.
Want to make a video? Good news, we’re planning on running another contest. More details will be announced in 2014.
